Jim reported that he was unable to open documents using Libre Office. He also reported that he could not open email attachments.
Upon inspection I discovered that his browser had a plugin that replaced Google search. It is not clear if this was an infection or not. I removed the plugin and reset Google to it’s defaults.
Using Process Explorer I discovered that there were many instances of Libre Office running but the processes were hung for some reason. I terminated the processes and Libre started working again. I downloaded and installed the latest version of Libre.
Before leaving, I started a full system scan using Norton.
