Tim reports:
Cell stopped receiving on Friday . Flags message “not enough space in devise storage Delete some files and try again” Have deleted all E mails and done everything I know to no change. I will not be around Friday but next week would work if you could take a look.
My response:
Ahah! The mail program probably has data cached. If you use Facebook, it could be that. The other place where data could be hiding is the camera app or the music app. Try this:
Settings->Storage->All
The list will be in order of most used storage to least. Click on an application in the list . One of the options you’ll see is “clear cache” (NOT “clear data”). Do that for the ones with lots of cache. The “clear data” button would wipe the configuration settings for the application which is why you don’t want to do that.
A long term fix would be to get an external microSD card and move as many applications to the SD card, assuming your phone supports it. Most Android phones do. I have a 32GB microSD card in my phone which is double the space that the phone came with. My recommendation is to get a 64GB microSD if you can afford it.
