Scan to email stopped working

Scan to work stopped working over the holidays. Investigation showed that the server encountered an error which required operator involvement during the boot process. Because the server is the SMTP gateway for the Minolta copier, no scans could be sent.

To get around this problem, I’ve created a Dimentech email user warnerth@contra.org. The Minolta configuration was updated to use authentication and to connect to sm1.dimentech.com for sending scans.

This service is being provided at no extra cost to the town and is included in their yearly service fee.
